We designed and implemented a completely new access control and time recording system based on RFID technology for Hungerit Zrt. The goal was to create a reliable, fast, and contactless identification solution capable of handling multi-shift work schedules, the movement of up to 1,500–1,700 employees per day, and ensuring tight integration with the existing HR system.
The challenge
Hungerit’s operating environment is complex in several respects:
- large number of employees, continuous shift changes,
- different access points and physical environments (outdoor gates, wet and metal surfaces),
- the need for fast, second-by-second access,
- reliable detection of cards in pockets or bags,
- immediate display of the photos and authorizations of employees entering the premises,
- random selection and confirmation of searches,
- maintaining the operability of the system even in the event of an emergency or power failure,
- HR integration with two-way communication.
In the second phase of the project, RFID-based control of the plant’s internal zones, with up to 20-30 reading points, posed an additional challenge.
The solution
We carried out the entire system design, logical architecture development, software development, and integration and fine-tuning of the RFID infrastructure provided by our partner.

- on-site tuning of RFID reading performance and antenna distribution,
- development of logical management of mass access,
- optimization of system operation under different environmental conditions.
- Development of the entire software environment
- access control module: with photo display, authorization management, and search logic,
- authorization management module: management of HR data and access levels,
- administrator module: reports, statistics, exports,
- data connection module: two-way communication with the PIRAMIS HR system.
- Development of internal zone management
In the second phase, we created RFID-based zones and logical control where motion detection and presence tracking are implemented without opening doors.
- Integration of the Reva TAP system
With the use of TAP:
- we provided central management for the entire RFID infrastructure,
- we created a flexible system architecture that can be configured on a graphical interface,
- we simplified further expansions, integrations, and adjustments.
Results
- Fast, contactless access at multiple sites with real-time feedback.
- Automatic working time recording with HR data reconciliation.

- Significant reduction in queuing times.
- A future-proof system that can be fine-tuned during operation and further developed to meet future needs.
